Mabel May Hunter, a lifelong resident of White Cloud, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 8th, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on Thursday, May 24th, 1934, in White Cloud, Mabel lived a life rich in love, family, and community service.
A dedicated and talented seamstress, Mabel spent countless hours embroidering, sewing, and quilting, creating beautiful pieces that will be cherished by many. Her love for gardening, particularly her flowers, was well known, and she found immense joy in the simple pleasures of tending her garden. She cherished her faith and deeply valued the connections she made there throughout her life. Mabel's greatest joy was her family; she had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were a constant source of pride and happiness.
Mabel is survived by her sons, James (Norma) Spangenberger of White Cloud, MI, and Carl Spangenberger. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Sheila, Jessie, and Erica, as well as three great-grandchildren who brought smiles to her days. She is fondly remembered by her siblings, Francis Yoder and Jonas (Betty) Chupp, and is mourned by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Elfie J Chupp and Clarence Edward Chupp, her son, Dave Spangenberger, and her siblings, Frank Chupp, Ed Chupp, Sam Chupp, Tom Chupp, Moses Chupp, and Sara Dugan.
Visitation for Mabel will be held at the White Cloud Mennonite Church in White Cloud, MI, on Monday, October 14th, 2024, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 pm. The graveside service will take place at the Amish Cemetery in White Cloud, MI, immediately following the funeral service.
