Mabel Saunders Obituary
Mabel L. Saunders (George), of Milton, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2024, at Newton Wellesley Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of selfless devotion to her family and community. Born in Boston, MA, Mabel's life was a testament to the strength and tenderness of her spirit.
Mabel was the cherished wife of the late Warren B. Saunders. She was a loving mother to Carl Saunders and his wife Cynthia of Milton, and to Kimberly Brown of Norwood.
The Saunders family tree included her sister Geraldine DeFrancesco of Milton, and she was preceded in death by her siblings Ernest George, Alice Pretti, Richard George, Louise Beacham, Mitchel George, Mildred Richardson, and Lorraine Brown. Mabel's warmth and presence will be sorely missed by her extended family and all who had the pleasure of being part of her life.
Mabel's educational journey began at Dorchester High School and culminated in her graduation from the Horticultural School in Jamaica Plain. Her passion for learning and growth was evident in her professional and personal life. Mabel dedicated many years as a Technician at Polaroid's Cambridge and Waltham locations, where she was known for her meticulous work and the genuine connections she made with her colleagues.
Beyond her professional achievements, Mabel's interests were a reflection of her love for life and nature. She found joy in sewing, creating pieces that were both beautiful and practical. Gardening was another of Mabel's passions; she nurtured her plants with the same care and attention she gave to her relationships. Her garden was a vibrant symbol of her dedication to growth and renewal.
Family was the cornerstone of Mabel's world. She cherished the time spent with her loved ones and created an abundance of happy memories that will be treasured forever. Her selfless nature meant she always put the needs of her family before her own, ensuring they felt supported and loved.
Mabel was a devout and active member of St. George's Church in West Roxbury. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she served her church community with the same love and dedication she showed to her family.
Those who knew Mabel will remember her as the epitome of love and kindness. Her selflessness was evident in every aspect of her life, from the way she raised her children to the care she showed her friends and colleagues. Mabel's legacy is one of compassion, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to the people and causes she held dear.
As we bid farewell to Mabel L. Saunders, we carry forward the light of her spirit. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us, just as her presence once did. Mabel's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, kindness, and selflessness, and the patterns she created will remain with us always.
In honoring Mabel's memory, we reflect on the profound impact she had on everyone she encountered. Her life was a true embodiment of the values she held dear, and her influence will be felt for generations to come. Rest in peace, dear Mabel. Your love will forever be the wind beneath our wings.
