Mable Isles, 62, passed away on January 5, 2026. Born in Galveston, she remained a Texan all her life, building a home and legacy grounded in faith, family, and quiet strength.
On September 12, 1992, Mable married Bert, the love of her life. They became parents a few years later, and with renewed determination she returned to college to complete her degree in Accounting. She graduated in 1999-just in time for the birth of their second child. Together, she and Bert raised their two children with abundant love and care, nurturing in them a deep devotion to family, a profound sense of duty to others, and an abiding faith in the Lord.
Mable dedicated nearly 20 years of service to the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District, where she served as Director of Financial Services. She was deeply committed to her work and took pride in serving her community with integrity and care. She worked tirelessly to cultivate a workplace environment that was more than just crunching numbers. She found so much joy in celebrating the little holidays, decorating the office for Christmas, working on team puzzles, and ultimately just bringing a sense of community to her team.
Outside of work, Mable loved staying active and engaged. She found joy in completing puzzles, building LEGO sets, and taking on small projects around the house. Yet above all else, Mable's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud Gigi who cared deeply for her only grandchild. Everything she did was for the people she loved.
Mable was a woman of strong Christian faith, which guided her life and shaped the way she cared for others. She was strong, kind, and deeply caring - not just nice, but genuinely invested in the lives of those around her. She would do anything for the people she loved, often without hesitation or recognition. Though she may not have always seen it herself, Mable was deeply loved by all who knew her, just as she loved them.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Bertrand Isles; her children, David Isles and Ashley Isles Asonye; her son-in-law Enyi Asonye; her granddaughter Monroe Asonye; and her seven siblings, Pamela Goode (Walt Goode), Patricia Paino, Wanda Barnes, Michael Stewart, Frank Stewart, Ivey Stewart, and Calvin Stewart. She was reunited in heaven with her parents, Hillard Stewart and Lucille Stewart, as well as her siblings Henry Stewart and Palina Wagner.
Mable Isles will be remembered for her unwavering strength, her deep faith, and the love she gave so freely. She was a remarkable woman, a devoted mother, and a presence that will be deeply missed.
