Mac A. Washington, 66, Marion, passed away at 11:21 pm on Thursday, December 28, 2023. He was born in Louisiana on Monday, December 31, 1956, to Booker T. and Gladys Washington. He married Cheryl Sink, who survives.
Mac was a self-employed mechanic for many years, and he absolutely loved working on cars. He liked to watch westerns and always looked forward to attending the James Dean Festival and family reunions. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.
Mac is also survived by his son, Mac A. (Tanya) Washington; step-sons, Robert Vanbuskirk and Don Vanbuskirk; step-daughter, Eva Vanbuskirk; granddaughters, Precious Vanbuskirk and Rosetta; grandsons, Jordan Vanbuskirk, Landon Salazar, and Roman Bidwell; brothers, Ten (Gloria) Washington and Elvis (Amber) Washington; sisters, Lily Washington, Deena May Washington, and Merlean (late Lawrence) Johnson; step-sister, Anna Gustus and several step-brothers and step-sisters; nephew, Wallace Washington, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, May Lee Washington; and brothers, Matthew Washington, Wallace Washington, and Mack Washington.
The family will receive visitors from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Grant Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 1606 W. 26th St., Marion, IN.
Immediately following visitation, a funeral service to celebrate Mac's life will begin at 10:00 am. Rev. Ronald Hon will be officiating with burial following at Grant Memorial Park.
Arrangements are entrusted to Integrity Cremation & Funeral Care, 1606 W. 26th St., Marion, IN.
