Macie Marie Meadows Lambert Graef, also known as Granny Sunshine, age 90, was surrounded by a praying family with music and singing in her home, where she peacefully took her last breath at 12:05 pm on January 26th, 2026. Macie was born on April 20, 1935, in East Gulf, West Virginia, and grew up in Princewick, West Virginia, where her strong faith and love for family shaped her life.
Macie lived her life devoted to the Lord, attending Amazing Grace Worship Center. Her faith was not only something she spoke about, but something she lived daily loving deeply, giving freely, and welcoming everyone into her life.
She was the proud mother of eight children, seven daughters and one son. Alongside her beloved husband of many years, Arnold Lambert, they built their home and raised their family in Shady Spring, West Virginia. Their home was filled with love, laughter, music, and faith; always welcoming family and friends.
She loved music and had a passion for singing. Macie and some of her daughters sang in their own Christian band, winning them a People's Choice Award. She also enjoyed watching her crops bloom and flowers grow. Spending time with family brought her joy and left us with precious memories. She enjoyed adventurous rides that most often led to
Hinton, WV. She cherished trips to Tennessee, where she loved staying in a cabin and soaking in the peace of the mountains. Macie was a true people person, she thrived in crowds and never shied away from attention. She had a special gift of bringing life to any gathering: to know her was to love her! Her joyful spirit and warm presence left a lasting imprint on everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her husband of many years, Reverend Arnold O'Dell Lambert; her late husband, Theodore Graef; her father, Walter Albert Meadows; her mother, Bessie Cole Meadows; her siblings, Emmitt, Junior, Wesley, Lawrence, Lloyd, Howard, Bernice, Mertha, Cloie, and Gertrude; and her grandsons, Lloyd Milam, Jacob Jones, and C.J. Morton.
