Robert Pittman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by High Lawn Funeral Home on Jan. 26, 2026.
Robert Lee Pittman, 66, of Brooklyn, went peacefully to his heavenly home after a short illness on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at his sister's, Barbara and Max Coffey's lovely farm in Lookout. Robert was born on February 5, 1959, in Gatewood to Arlene Jean Pittman and the late James Pittman.

Robert spent his life living and loving everday to its fullest. He did what he wanted to do, how he wanted to do it. He was happy with his simple life. He had a personality, heart, and laugh to big for his small frame. He accepted everybody, just the way they were, and never judged anyone. He was generous beyond Reason. Robery always loved anything with wheels on it. He was a true adventurer and enjoyed camping, hiking, and just hanging out.

He will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.

In addition to his father, Robert was preceded in death by his nephews, Kenneth Pittman, Jeremiah Pittman, Rodney Pittman, by his kindred-spirited, especially close nephew, Jason Tree Coffey; and his beloved friend and "brother-in-love", David Sorrell; and by his Brooklyn brothers and dearly loved friends, Donnie Jasper and Thurmond Humphrey.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Arlene Jean Pittman Thomas, whom he loved, feared, and respected; his former spouse, Cheryl Moss; sons, Josh Pittman and Brian Wriston; daughter, Monica (Nikki) Miller; grandchildren, Haley Pittman, Deliah Pittman, Brian Cook, and Brittany Adkins; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara (Max) Coffey, Wanda Sorrell, Janet (Mark) Hernandez, and Melody (Tom) Meadows; brothers, Kenny (Charity) Pittman, Jackie (Tammi) Pittman, and Johnny (Roberta) Pittman; around 40 nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Services will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at High Lawn Funeral Home with his brothers officiating.

Friends may call on the family 1 hour prior to the service.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.highlawnfuneralhome.com.
