Mack Arthur "Diddy" Mason, 71, of Concord, NC passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026. Mack was born on June 4, 1954 to Paul Mason, Sr and Catherine Shankle in Harrisburg, NC.

Mack was educated in the Harrisburg, NC school system. Mack was employed with the City of Concord in waste management for over 20 years before resigning. Up until his recent decline in health, Mack was employed with Morrison Brothers Building Center in Concord, NC. In addition to his full-time job, Mack worked as a trusted handyman to his community, always willing to lend his skills, time, and heart to help others.

In addition to his parents, Mack was preceded in death by his sister, Selvy Mason Moungle of Concord, NC. Mack is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy White Mason. One son, Edward "Gerald" Mason, of Concord, NC. One daughter, Lizzie Mason, of the home. A bonus daughter that he and Dorothy raised as their own, Janet Mason (Claude), of Kannapolis, NC. Three grandchildren, Tyheim Mason, of the home, Javon Mullis, of Concord, NC, Cylence Mason, of Midland, NC, and one great-grandchild.

Mack also leaves behind six sisters and three brothers. Flossie Gill (Robert), of Concord, NC, Dianne White (Edward), of Concord, NC, Valerie Mason (Eldred), of Concord, NC, Kathy Willis (Purcell), of Jacksonville, FL, Sharon Mason of Salisbury, NC, Elwonda Mason, of Concord, NC, Paul Mason, Jr, of Concord, NC, Boyce Mason, of Concord, NC, and Antonio Mason, of Concord, NC.

In addition to his immediate family, Mack is also survived by a host of brothers-and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. At last, he is at peace, reunited with those who went before him, taking the rest he long deserved-and leaving behind many who will miss him dearly.

Funeral arrangements are scheduled for Friday, February 6, 2026 at Barber Scotia College in Concord. The visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. - 1:00 P.M. followed by the funeral service at 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Rutherford Memorial Park. Lamb Funeral Home Inc. will be serving the family.
