Mackenzie Britt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Vincent Funeral Home - West Point on Aug. 24, 2023.
Mackenzie Grace Britt, 15, of Lanexa, VA passed away unexpectedly Thursday, August 17th, 2023.
Mackenzie was an upcoming sophomore at New Kent High School where she enjoyed being on the wrestling and softball teams. She enjoyed the river, beach, photography and spending time with family and friends. However, her fondest memories simply came from being by her father's side often spending the days running heavy equipment and taking long road trips. Mackenzie found grace through her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Mackenzie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Boyd Britt, Thelma Britt Ertl, and William Ballard; her brother, Bryant Britt; uncle, Jerry Britt; aunts, Julia Castillo and Wanda "Erkie" Fletcher. She leaves behind her parents, John and Donna Britt, Nancy Britt; sister, Cathy Greggs (Kevin); brother, Kevin Fletcher (Jennifer); grandparents, Kathryn Ballard and Diane "Nanny" Haden; nephew, Caleb; "the forever trio" nephew, Landen and niece, Charlotte Pearl, whom she referred to as "her best friend"; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and a very special friend, Cole Haden; who all love her beyond measure and miss her deeply.
A celebration of life service will be held at 7pm, Thursday, August 31st at Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th Street, West Point, VA 23181. The family will receive friends 5-7pm, just before the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to SAP Mackenzie's Grace Memorial Fund at United Bank in West Point, VA. If you wish to mail in a donation, please mail it to PO Box 856, West Point, VA 23181. This will be an ongoing fund to help with suicide awareness prevention (SAP) for teens and will be distributed to different organizations in Mackenzie's memory.
