Madeline E. Leyda, age 100, of Canton, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024 in the Canton Christian Home. Born in Robertsville, OH, on November 11th, 1923, to her late parents, John and Ina Haubert. She lived most of her life in Canton and was employed with Geauga Plastics where she retired in 1990. She enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians, playing Euchre, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Rudy "Butch" Kager and Richard "Dicky" Kager; two brothers, William Haubert and John Haubert; sisters, Genola Hall and Eva Braucher. Madeline is survived by daughter, Sherry Leyda; son, Lee (Lori) Kyser; daughter-in-law, Joyce Kager; grandchildren, Justine (Keith) Holland, Jeff Kager, Richard and Brian Kager, Shawna Dyer, Alicia (PeeWee) Miller, and Devin Kyser. Great-grandchildren, Zachary Kager, Jessica (Michael) Tozzi, Seth (Emily) Holland, Sean (Brooke) Holland, Tyler (Madison) Dyer, Isabella and Christopher Kager, Karissa and Nate Kager, Payton Miller, and 7 great-great-grandchildren, as well as, several nieces and nephews.
The family welcomes guests to calling hours on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 11AM until 1PM at the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel with a service honoring Madeline's life beginning at 1PM. Procession to Robertsville Cemetery will follow for the graveside service. Please visit reedfuneralhome.com to share condolences.
