On May 13, 2023; Madeline H. Mattheu, 91, passed away at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. She was predeceased by her parents, Walter R. Mattheu, Marie E. Schenning and her siblings, Henry W. Mattheu, Walter L. Mattheu, Anna C. Bratton, Frances R. Suarez-Murias and Elizabeth M. Giordano.
She is the cherished sister of Lucille Mattheu, sister-in-law of Jeffrey J. Stitt and aunt of Jenny Marie Stitt, M.D. She will be greatly missed by her Godchildren, T. Michael Bratton, Julie M. Cox, and Tony Giordano, who have been devoted to her over the years. She leaves behind her sisters-in-law, Colleen D. Mattheu and Nancy F. Mattheu as well as numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Madeline graduated from the Catholic High School (TCHS) in 1949, with an academic degree in business. She spent her career life of 43 years, working as an executive/medical secretary in the Baltimore/Washington areas. The last 14 years before her retirement she was the assistant medical secretary for Dr. Peter Creticos who was one of the founding physicians of the Allergy/Asthma Center at Johns Hopkins Bayview.
A Celebration of Life Mass and Reception will be held at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Madeline's name to your favorite charity. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.evansfuneralchapel.com
