Madeline “Rory” E. Savard, age 19, of Sun Prairie, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at their home. They were born on November 23, 2004 in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Christopher and Ruth (Van Lanen) Savard.
“It is with an absolute broken heart that we share the loss of our sweet Rory on Wednesday. Rory was such a kind-hearted, caring soul who was always concerned about others. As a child, Rory was so joyful and fun-loving, and those are the memories we cherish and cling to.
In recent years, Rory fought so hard to push back against the darkness of depression and anxiety. We are so proud of how they fought, the ground they gained, and so devastated that in their weakest moment, they chose to shoulder the burden alone rather than share it. Oh, Rory! To the very end, you were thinking of others - but if you only knew….we would’ve so much rather dealt with any other burden than the grief we now carry in losing you.”
Rory is survived by their parents, Christopher and Ruth; their brothers Caleb, Noah, and Zachary Savard; 7 aunts; 6 uncles; 18 cousins; their grandparents Clarene and David Van Lanen; and their grandfather Ray Savard; and countless other friends and family. They are preceded in death by their abuela Angelina Savard, uncle Marcus Savard, and cousin Leland Van Lanen.
Visitation will be from 12-2:30 PM on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, WI 53590 with a brief memorial service to follow at 2:30 PM.
