Madelyn Mack Obituary
Madelyn was born on August 10, 1935 in Ridgeland, South Carolina, to the late Philip Doe and Charlotte Doe. She received her early education in the Jasper County Public Schools and later discovered her true passion for nursing, attending Nursing School to pursue her career.
Madelyn met and married NYPD officer George Mack, and together they made New York City their home for more than five decades. She dedicated her life to providing nursing care in centers and private homes throughout the city.
In addition to her parents, Madelyn was preceded in death by her husband George Mack and daughter Carolyn "Samantha" Taylor.
Madelyn is survived by her grandchildren Sequoia and Dominique Gillyard; beloved siblings, Shirley Hector (Ridgeland) and brother James Doar (Maryland ); devoted nieces Angela Doar (Maryland), Robin Hector (Maryland) and Jo Ann Ricks (Maryland); special nephew, Kevin Doar (Maryland); along with a host of family and friends.
Madelyn will be laid to rest at the Beaufort National Cemetary beside her beloved husband, George. Service and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites memorial contributions in Madelyn's name to a charity of your choice.
