Mae Caudill Amburgey, 97, of Ermine peacefully entered her Eternal Home on Saturday, October 8, 2022.
Mae lived the majority of her life in Ermine, Ky. She attended Whitesburg High School and Western Kentucky University earning a degree in business. After graduation she and her husband Ottis returned home where Mae worked for many years for the local sheriffs office before going to work for her family's business Caudill Lumber Co. "MomMae" as she was affectionately called by grandchildren was a proud long standing member of the First Baptist Church in Whitesburg, Ky. She was an avid reader with a curious soul who never lost the love of learning.
Mae is preceded in death by her parents; Hattie Mae Combs Caudill and Stephen Caudill, husband Ottis, brother Herb Caudill of Whitesburg and oldest son Stephen (Greg) and his wife Rebecca (Becky) of Jenkins.
Left to cherish her memory are her three sons: Larry of Ermine, Phillip (Jill) of Chelsea, AL and Jay (Tina) of Merritt Island, FL.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren; Tanya Amburgey Layne (Jeff) of Lexington, Missy Amburgey Crovetti (Greg) of Libertyville, IL, Gregory Amburgey of Ermine, Brett Amburgey (Holly) of Cumming, GA, Michael Amburgey (Jessica) of Hindman, Tyler Amburgey of Orlando, FL, Allison Amburgey of Orlando, FL and Lane Amburgey (Anastasiya) of Irvine, CA: ten great grandchildren, Alex (Laura), Clay, Abigail, Kincer, Francesca, Harper, Sloane, Sutter, Lexus, and Kyle; two great great grandchildren, Carolina and Jaxon, and sister-in-law Sally Caudill.
She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral: 1:00 O'clock P.M. Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the Whitesburg First Baptist Church with Tony Brown officiating. Visitation: 12:00 O'clock Noon Saturday at the Whitesburg First Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Whitesburg First Baptist Church in her memory.
Family will gather at Combs Cemetery for burial immediately following the service.
