Mae A. (Myers) Behler, age 96, of Spring Grove, passed away peacefully at SpiriTrust Lutheran – the Village at Sprenkle Drive in York on June 30, 2025. She was the loving wife of the late William D. Behler who passed away on May 21, 2002; together they shared 50 years of marriage.
Mae was born in Codorus Township, PA on June 24, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Esther (Kessler) Myers. In her younger years, she was employed by the Seven Valleys Sewing Factory. For over 40 years, she also worked as a house keeper for several families in the York area.
Mae was a strong woman of faith who loved the Lord, and enjoyed spending time reading her Bible. She was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in York, and a longtime Sunday School teacher at Church of the Open Door in West York. Mae dearly loved and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. She was affectionately known as "Mamaw" to her family.
Mae is survived by her two daughters, Vicki Behler of Lancaster, and Karen (Behler) Glessner and husband Ken of York; her grandchildren, Gregory Glessner of Dover, Nichole (Glessner) Smoker and her husband Jason of New Holland, and David Glessner, husband of Cariana of York; her great-grandchildren, Addison and Eden Smoker, and Jaxon and Zoe Glessner. She is also survived by her siblings, Mervin Myers, Jack Myers, and Joyce Kessler; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mae was preceded in death by her siblings Gordon Myers, Larry Myers, Eloise Myers, Grace Moul, Lottie Trone, and Geraldine Keener.
Funeral services and interment will be held privately at Shaffer's Church Cemetery in Seven Valleys.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mae's memory may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 2740 Roosevelt Ave., York, PA 17408.
