Mae Bryan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McClam Funeral Home - New Haven on Jun. 16, 2025.
Mother Mae Helen O'Bryan 90, of New Haven, CT departed this life on June 3, 2025 at home. She was born on November 11, 1934 in Georgetown, SC to the late Willie and Ella LeSane.
Mae was a Founding member of Walk of Faith Church of Christ until she transitioned from earth. She was the Mother of the church as well as serving on the Pastor's Aide, Food Pantry, Women's Ministry and a Choir Member where she sang "Somebody Prayed for Me". She was a member of Eastern Star. She worked at PFC, Ann Taylor and last place of employment was Finely Fine Jewelry. Once retired she dedicated her life to caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as other family members.
In 1953, Mae moved to Connecticut to live with one of her 6 siblings, Freeman LeSane. This is where she met her late husband Claudius R. O'Bryan, Sr. Mother O'Bryan loved to travel and listen to her gospel music. She was certainly the queen of fashion with hats and shoes to match every outfit, always looking sharp. Loved to shop and never missing a bargain. Always willing to help those in need, no one was left hungry. Her specialty was that baked mac and cheese that everyone looked forward to at every family gathering and even church functions. She had taught us all how to live a great life!
Mae was predeceased in death by both parents; husband Claudius R. O'Bryan, Sr., One sister Pearlie Kerson, Five brothers Willis (Louvenia) LeSane, Caleb LeSane, Joshua (Audrey) LeSane, Samuel LeSane and Freeman (Laura) LeSane; and three sons Claudius R. O'Bryan, Jr., Joseph (Shirley) Lesane, Sr., and Willie Joe (Mary) LeSane.
Mother Mae O'Bryan leaves to cherish her memories, Daugters Ester LeSane-Tillery (Joseph) of Danbury, CT, Christal Ann O'Bryan of New Haven, CT, and Cheryl Lynn O'Bryan of West Hartford, CT; Sons Gerald (Angelina) LeSane of East Haven, CT, Jeffrey (Alice) O'Bryan of New Haven, CT, and Mark Anthony (Francis) O'Bryan of Charlotte, NC; granddaughter Tyra Grace, 29 grandchildren, a host of Great Grandchildren as well as Great-Great
