Mae Morris, 80, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in Indianapolis, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 15, 1945, in Hyden, Kentucky, to the late Joel B. and Beatrice (Engle) Morris.

Mae had a gift for nurturing others. She especially loved children, her gardens, and the simple joys of being outdoors. She also had a tender heart for animals and cared for wildlife in need.

She is survived by her daughters, Teresa (Allan) Simpson of Greenfield and Pamela (David) Simpson-Hardebeck; brothers, Samuel (Gerri) Morris and Daniel (Connie) Morris; sister, Francena Fulkerson; grandchildren, Brad (Anna) Simpson, Breanna (Vern) White, and Madison (Logan) Chazar; and great-grandchildren, Corbin, Carter, and Madelyn Simpson, and Grant McCollough.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joel and Beatrice Morris, and siblings Molly Whitcomb, Marylee Pennington, and Leslie Joe Morris.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. at Buchanan Funeral Home in Austin, Indiana. Funeral Service will be at 4:00pm, Thursday at Buchanan Funeral Home with a private graveside service for the family to follow the funeral at Spurgeon Cemetery, where Mae will be laid to rest.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Re-Wilding Indiana, a cause close to Mae's heart. Mae was an avid lover of wildlife, often rescuing and rehabilitating animals herself. Donations may be made online at: Wildlife Rehab & Hospital | Re-Wilding Indiana.
