Mafalda R. Scoppa, 86, lovingly known as "Fal," of South Williamsport, passed at home on February 24, 2025.
She was born in Williamsport on June 22, 1938, a daughter to the late Ernest and Josephine (Mignano) Ginoble.
Fal was a member of St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, where she sang in the church's choir when she was younger. She worked at the former Lycoming Braid in her early thirties. She loved her time in the bowling league at ABC Lanes.
Her husband of 48 years, Joseph "Junior" Scoppa Jr. passed on July 26, 2005.
She is survived by their children, Stephen J. Scoppa of South Williamsport, Michael Scoppa (Melissa Keller) of Montgomery, David Scoppa of Florida; granddaughters Mallory (Carlo) Scoppa-Gardner and Melissa (Ross) Scoppa-Moody, and Amber Scoppa; great-grandchildren Luciano, Luna, and Paloma Scoppa-Gardner; sister Dolores Palmer of Cogan Station; as well as brothers Dominic Ginoble of Loyalsock Twp., Albert Ginoble of South Williamsport, and Joseph Ginoble of Texas.
In addition to her parents and beloved husband Joe, Fal was preceded in death by; her baby sons Joseph and Ronnie, who died at birth; sisters Mary Mastellar, Helen Claubaugh, Carmella Rosevear, and Theresa Clees.
The family will receive friends and family from 10:00 – 10:45am in the church, prior to services.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, 800 W. Central Ave., South Williamsport, PA 17702 with Rev. Glenn McCreary officiating. Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully suggests memorial contributions in Fal's name may be made to Susquehanna Health Foundation for the benefit of UPMC Family Hospice, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701
