E. Jane Haefner, 102, of South Williamsport, died on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Leighton Place Senior Living. She was born September 14, 1922 in Trout Run, the daughter of Calvin M. and Clara E. (Bower) Ringler. She was a WWII Veteran of the Marine Corp., receiving basic training at Camp LeJeune, NC and serving for two and one-half years at the Marine Air Station, Goleta Calif. She was a member of St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. Jane was a housewife, enjoying crocheting, hiking and volunteering for church and community projects. She was married to John F. Haefner, they celebrated their 74th anniversary on Sept. 21, 2022 prior to his passing on Feb. 16, 2023. Surviving are three sons, Stephen R. (Calleen) of South Williamsport, Michael P. of Williamsport and John J. (Michelle) of Lansdale; nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers; Grover, John and Kenneth Ringler and a sister, Ida Mae Davis. A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2025 with her pastor, Rev. Glenn McCreary officiating, at Crouse Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 133 E. 3rd St., Williamsport, the family will receive family and friends at the funeral home from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral. Burial with military honors will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Montoursville. The family will provide the flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Boniface Parish, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport.
