Magda Ptak Obituary

Magda was a kind and generous soul with a deep appreciation for nature. Whether she was tending to her glorious plants or beautiful rose garden, protecting the recurring duck's nest that made its home in said garden, rescuing injured wildlife or stray dogs who may cross her path or simply observing a bird or a butterfly ~ Magda always showed love for all of God's creatures. Later in life Magda's creativity blossomed as she participated in art classes to showcase her various talents. She also enjoyed volunteering at her church. Magda traveled to many parts of the world during her lifetime. She enjoyed visiting new countries and exploring new cultures. Her adventurous spirit and love for nature lives on through her daughter.
Visitation Monday, June 16th from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 724 Elder Ln, Deerfield, IL 60015. A funeral mass will follow at 10:30 am. The mass will be live-streamed on the Church's website at https://www.holycrossparish.net/live Entombment All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Des Plaines. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your local animal shelter in Magda's memory.

I am very grateful to have known Magda while I worked in the Activity Department at Sedgebrook. Her joyous smile, always curly hair (so jealous!) and powerful spirit made my day better. We spoke often about gardening, family and Art. She prayed for my brother when he was gravely ill and I know those intentions helped him to heal. Magda made me laugh and become a better person. I will truly miss her.
