Maggie Baker Barrix

Maggie (Baker) Barrix was born October 8, 1926, in Monteagle, Tennessee, in the Appalachian Mountains. Loving Mom, Gramma, Great-Gramma, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, had her heavenly homegoing December 24, 2025.
She was met with open arms by her beautiful grand-daughter Sara, her daughter Sherry Barrix, son Bill Barrix, grandson Brandon Barrix and many family and friends.
Her loving family she leaves behind are daughters, Patricia (Kenny) Kauffman, and Christal (Mo) Hughes along with her son, Paul (Denise) Barrix.
Grandkids, Bill (Carrie) Barrix, Bryan Kauffman, Erica Kauffman, Sara Kauffman, Jon-Paul Kauffman, Shaun Hughes, Rachel (Casey) Adams, Matthew Barrix, Jeremiah Barrix, Ryan Straight, Bethany Sundell, Cody Pineda, Ethan Pineda, Angelina Mustola, Kegan Pineda, Colton Pineda, and Luke Pineda. She had 29 precious great-grandchildren that were a great blessing to her.
We will miss her much, but we know she is having the time of her life, cooking beans and biscuits for Jesus.
Gram, as everyone called her, had a life that most couldn't imagine. She was strong, stubborn, and resilient. She would tell stories of the mountains in Tennessee. All the people and places she encountered. She would talk about her pet squirrels (Fuddlebutt and Lady), a pig named Sticks, many other cats and dogs, and her best friend, Chewy, who she had for many years.
She loved the Lord. She would be the first to tell you how grateful she was that He walked by her side through the worst times imaginable and the most joyful times. He was her rock in this life and now she is with Him for eternity! She will be missed by the ones left behind, but for those who believe, we'll see her again. Welcome home, Gramma. We love you.
A Memorial Service for Maggie Barrix will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Palmer Bush & Jensen – Holt Chapel: 5035 Holt Rd, Holt, Michigan 48842. Family will begin welcoming friends at 12:00 pm.
