Our sweet girl, Makayla "Kayla" Cora Rose Treadwell, was welcomed in the arms of the Lord at the age of 16. Though her time here was far too short, she filled our lives with more love, laughter, and light than we could ever have imagined.
Kayla was in her junior year at Sachse High School and dreamed of becoming an EMS nurse so she could care for others the way she always did with her heart. She went through so many surgeries and life challenges, but she never let them change who she was authentically. She was a fighter-selfless, strong, and imaginative.
She loved cooking, drawing, dancing, and finding new ways to be creative. Her dog Bruce was her absolute bestest friend, and she took pride in being the only sister in the house-spoiled in her own way and never afraid to keep her brothers in line. Kayla also loved spending time with her cousins, going on adventures, making mischief, and simply enjoying being outdoors. She was truly an angel on earth.
Kayla was welcomed in Heaven by her paternal grandparents, Eugene and Cora Treadwell; her maternal step-grandfather, Mark Allen King Sr. and her sweet cousin, Damion McClendon.
Those who will continue to carry on her memory and walk in her light includes her mom, Sophia King (Mark King Jr.), and her dad, Kory Treadwell Sr. She will be deeply missed by her siblings, Kory Treadwell Jr., Jackson King, Troy King, and Karah Treadwell; her "uncle dad" Kenneath King; her grandparents Daniel and Catherine McClendon; her great- grandparents; and so many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will carry her memory forever.
Kayla's light will never fade. Her laughter, her love, and her spirit will always be a part of us. We will continue to walk with her in our hearts and love her to the moon and back, always and forever.
