Makenna Liberty Johnson

With deep sorrow and much love, we mourn the untimely passing of our beloved Makenna Liberty Johnson, affectionately known as Makenna, born on Wednesday, July 30, 2003, in Dayton, Ohio, and peacefully passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. An old soul with an infectious laugh, an undeniable love for life, and a heart as vast as the ocean, Makenna was the embodiment of the saying, "To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die." She was a vibrant young woman who had an uncanny ability to make anyone's day brighter with her infectious smile and kind-hearted spirit.
Makenna is survived by her loving parents, Melissa Carreon Jaquez and Mark Johnson, as well as her doting sister, Madison Hayman. She was a beacon of light and joy to her family, and her absence creates a void that cannot be filled. Makenna was a dedicated employee at Starbucks, where she found joy in the simple act of making someone's day brighter with a perfectly-crafted latte. Her passion for service was visible not just in her profession, but also in the way she lived her life - always ready to lend a helping hand, a listening ear, and a shoulder to cry on.
Her life was a beautiful song that will continue to play in our hearts, and your shared memories will help keep her spirit alive.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 12:00 pm at Woodland Cemetery, Mausoleum Chapel, 118 Woodland Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, 45409. The funeral service will commence at the same venue at 1:00 pm on the same day.
