Malcolm Beauchamp

Malcolm Beauchamp, 78, resident of White Springs, Florida, died at Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City early Saturday, May 23, 2009 after an extended illness.

He was a native of White Springs, son of the late Sam and Ethel Whitefield Beauchamp and had made his home there his entire life. He was employed by The Department of Transportation for many years as a bridge inspector until his retirement. He was a graduate of White Springs High School, class of 1949, was a member of Ricefield Hunting Club, enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a farmer and cattleman and loved to be with his family and friends. Malcolm was a member of the Lake City Masonic Lodge F&AM #27, former owner of Barnett Drug Store, and a member of The White Springs Baptist Church. His wife of more than fifty years, Virginia H. Beauchamp, died in 2006.

Survivors include two sons, Sammie M. Beauchamp, Jr. “Mickey” (Cheryl) of Bronson, FL and Randy Beauchamp (Donna) of Jasper, FL, an adopted son, William “Buck” Buchanan (Edye) of White Springs, FL. One daughter, Jennie Lynn Lord (Dwight) of Lake City, FL. Three brothers, Paul Beauchamp, White Springs, FL, Jerry Beauchamp (Virginia) and Wayne Beauchamp (Betty) both of Chiefland, FL. One sister, Irene Bozeman (William) of Live Oak, FL. Eleven Grandchildren and five Great Grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 P.M. Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at White Springs First Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Thompson, Rev. Lowell O’Steen, Rev. Burl Harkey, and Rev. Randy Ogburn officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, White Springs, FL. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday, May, 25, 2009 from 5 –7 P.M.
