Mr. Malcolm Forrest “Bock” Glass of Scottsburg passed away May 5, 2025 at the age of 68. He was born in Halifax County on March 19, 1957 to Frances Short Glass who survives and the late John Joseph Glass. He was married to Connie Hatcher Glass who survives.
He was of the Baptist faith. Malcolm retired from Glass’ Auto Service as an auto mechanic after many dedicated years of service. He believed in living life to its fullest by enjoying auto racing, fishing, hunting, working on bikes, motorcycles and go-kart racing and was an avid gun collector. Most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Malcolm is survived by his wife, Connie Hatcher Glass; his mother, Frances Short Glass; one daughter, Jennifer Glass Pannell (Jessica) of Halifax; five grandchildren, Jasmine Lovelace Collins (Ashley) of Scottsburg, Ashanti Lovelace of South Boston, Aliyah Chandler of Scottsburg, Shekeria Chandler (Josh) of Halifax, Je’Siah Pannell of Halifax; seven great-grandchildren, Brayden Farmer, A’Riyah Smith, Kameron Harris, Kamari Johnson, Dalainey Powell, Azariah Johnson and Emerlyn Hupp. He is also survived by two brothers, Marshall Glass (Carolyn) of Halifax, and Paul Glass (Catherine) of South Boston; nieces, Hannah and Erin Glass, Lauryn Fears and special niece, Destiney Perkins; nephews John Feirl Hatcher, Charles and Michael Hudson and special friend Lula Dale Snead
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John Presley and Lena Conner Glass; maternal grandparents, Lundy and Lena Fuller Short.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. at South Boston Church of God.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 12, 2025, from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home and other times at his home.
