Malcom Mack Maza

A Celebration of Life Service for Mack Maza will be held Monday, April 15, 2024 at Griffin Funeral Home in West Monroe, La. at 7:00 PM. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM in the same venue.
Malcom "Mack" Maza Jr., a cherished family man, revered Navy veteran, and beloved member of the West Monroe community, departed this life on April 11, 2024, at the age of 76. Mack was born on May 23, 1947, in West Monroe, Louisiana, where he also peacefully passed away.
Mack was predeceased by his devoted wife, Doris Maza, his parents, Malcom and Ivy Maza, as well as by his sisters, Ruth Taylor and Homa Jenkins. He is survived by his two sons, Jason Maza (Donna) and John Clayton Maza (Dvawn), his adored grandchildren, Sarah Hollis (Daniel), Jake Maza (Jordan), Jadon Maza, Abbey Maza, Chloe Maza, Lennon Maza, and great-grandson, Eli Maza. Mack's extended family included step-grandchildren John Hurd (Connor), Sherry Hurd, Doug Hurd, Richard Hurd, and step-great-grandchildren Tucker, Taylynn, and Lennon Grace, along with nephews, Gary, Bobby, Randall "Ole Man", and
Harold along with nieces Debbie, Della, Brenda, Virginia, and Charlotte.
An avid baseball fan, Mack enjoyed watching his grandson on the field, a sight that filled his heart with immeasurable pride. Fishing was not just a pastime, but a tranquil refuge for him, providing countless hours of serenity and reflection by the water's edge. He found joy in the melodies of his son Clayton's music, a harmony that resonated deeply within his soul. He cherished the moments that his grandchildren would come and visit with him.
Mack's Navy service was a source of pride and he loved his country. Mack's creative and spirited nature shone brightly in the camaraderie shared with his former colleagues and in the time he spent chatting away at his nephew "Ole Man" Taylor's automotive repair shop.
Those who knew Mack will remember him for his generosity, whether through his stories, his laughter, or the wisdom he readily shared. An enthusiastic attendee of air shows, Mack's spirit seemingly soared alongside the aircraft he so admired, a testament to his love of the skies after serving at sea.
Mack's presence could bring warmth to any gathering, stirring life into the room like the engine of one of "Ole Man" Taylor's cars. At home, his loyal dog Doodles remained a steadfast companion, reflecting the unconditional love Mack provided to all.
In the hearts of his family and friends, the memory of Malcom "Mack" Maza Jr. will be forever treasured, with each shared story and each loving thought ensuring that his generous spirit continues to inspire and guide us despite his physical absence.
