Sharon Lewis Wilhite, 74, of West
Monroe, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025, in Downsville, LA.
Sharon Lewis was born on March 12, 1951, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Helen Crain Lewis and Ernest Elliott Lewis.
Sharon was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who dedicated her life to caring for those she loved. A homemaker by heart and calling, she found joy in nurturing her family and creating a warm, welcoming home. Known affectionately as "Meme" by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Sharon was the heart of her family-always present, always giving, and always ready to help anyone in need without hesitation.
Before her recent illness, Sharon found great happiness in the simple pleasures of life-spending time with her loved ones, shopping, enjoying days at the beach, and cheering on her beloved Houston Astros. One of her greatest joys was attending the countless activities and events of her grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and happiness.
A 1968 graduate of West Monroe High School, Sharon spent many wonderful years in West
Monroe, Louisiana, before moving to Moore, Oklahoma, in 1994, and later to Huntsville, Alabama, in 2001. She returned to West Monroe in 2017, where she cherished reconnecting with lifelong friends and family.
In her younger years, Sharon was an avid bowler, spending countless hours at Western Lanes, where she developed both skill and friendships that lasted a lifetime. Her dedication to the sport earned her the title of 1983 Bowling State Champion-an accomplishment she and her family were very proud of. Sharon will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. She touched the lives of all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, laughter, and devotion to family.
Survivors include her husband, Armond Wilhite, of thirty-one years who she married on May 30, 1994; children, Shawn Karr and her husband Keith of Clanton, Alabama, Amy Carlisle and her husband Brad of Covington, Tennessee, Adam Wilhite and his wife Ashton of New Market, Alabama, and Connie Wilhite of Bossier City, Louisiana; parents, Ernest and Helen Lewis of West Monroe; her sister, Debbie Lewis Jones and her husband Charlie of Fairhope, Alabama; grandchildren, Evan Karr and his wife Madison, Natalie Karr, Lauren McGiboney and her husband Chandler, Abby Carlisle, Anna Brooke Carlisle, Eva Carlisle, Ashyer Wilhite, Kenny Grant, Christopher Grant, and Tyler Jeansonne; great grandchildren, Finley and Dani Karr; nephews, Nick Gates and Daniel Gates; and niece, Jill Gates.
A gathering of friends and family will take place from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2025, at Griffin Funeral Home in West Monroe. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2025, at Griffin Funeral Home with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun, Louisiana.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Adam Wilhite, Evan Karr, Nick Gates, Walter Hillman, Keith Lewis, and Jeff Lewis.
Sharon will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family and friends.
