Manfred Jungeblut Obituary

We are sad to announce the passing of Manfred (Fred) W. Jungeblut on Monday, September 5.
Fred was born in Wetschen, Germany Aug. 8, 1949, and he immigrated to the USA in 1954, arriving by ship with his parents. He grew up in Woodside, NY (Queens), graduated from nearby Martin Luther High School, and completed 2 years at Columbia University before starting a career as a steelworker in Chicago. Shortly afterwards he moved back east, settling in Connecticut to start a family. Initially he spent some time as a regional auditor for Cumberland Farms and finally discovered his main career as a paint salesman, where he built a reputation as an expert at color matching. He rose to the level of store manager in several paint stores throughout Connecticut. These include Paint Products, Brandman's Paint, and Painter's Supply. Fred found joy serving as a deacon at North Branford Congregational Church and touched many with his wisdom and strong faith, often delivered with a gentle sense of humor. As a 30-year friend of Bill, Fred was always willing to share his life experience with others, serving to benefit many with his guidance.
Survived by his life partner April Feathers, his sister Marion Lee (Daryl, children Christine, and Cathy Leeseberg (Danny, Children Emma and Allison), 3 sons: Adam (Reetika), Scott (Melissa, children Isabella and Sofia) and Samuel (Valentina), along with his beloved cat Maggie, and missed by many more.
In Fred's honor, please perform an act of kindness today.
Relatives and friends may attend visiting hours Thursday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street Branford and are invited to a memorial service Friday morning at 11:00 in the North Branford Congregational Church, 1680 Foxon Road, North Branford. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, feel free to donate in Fred's honor to either the Community Dining Room 33 Harrison Ave., Branford, or the Dan Cosgrove Animal Center, 11 Cherry Hill Road Branford, CT 06405. For directions and online memorial see www.wsclancy.com.

Such sad news to hear of a wonderful man passing too too early. Spending many years working with him I was fortunate enough to get to know him. My thoughts and prayers to all his extended family. Peace to you Freddie.

I am deeply saddened by the news of Fred's passing. My deepest condolences to April and to Fred's family. I've known Fred for what seems like a lifetime, we met when he asked me for a ride home from the Sunday night meeting over 30 years ago. We went on to become close friends and shared many great times together. I've always considered Fred to be one of my very best friends. My life was certainly made richer through knowing Fred, and I will miss him greatly.
