Manuel Dominguez was born on June 29, 1944, to his beloved parents, Julian and Valentina Flores Dominguez in Marlin, Texas. Manuel played football during school, graduating from China Spring High School in 1962. Manuel earned (studied) his bachelor degree (in academic field) from The University of Texas in San Antonio. Manuel was a brilliant student who excelled in the classroom as well as out in the field during his distinguished career as an Industrial Construction Superintendent, Project Manager, and Consultant that spanned 45 years.
Manuel and Mary Balderas Dominguez were blessed with two lovely children, Teena Dominguez Jimenez and Michael Dominguez, and China Springs is where Manuel and Mary raised their adoring children. Manuel’s children were the delight of his life and being their father was his greatest honor and highest calling in life.
Manuel has four grandchildren, whom he deeply cherished, and one great-grandchild, who was the apple of his eye: Jordan, Adriana, Marissa, Jarred, and Braecyn.
The highlight of Manuel’s life that brought him great joy was spending special family time and summer vacations with his children, grandchildren, and his one and only great-grandchild, who loved helping “Pop Pops” with his many farm chores. Manuel leaves behind a beautiful legacy through his precious family, who are as caring and loving as he was! Manuel was tenderly cared for by his son, Michael, during the last few years of Manuel’s life.
Manuel owned a small family farm, and he thoroughly enjoyed raising miniature horses and donkeys, goats, pigs, chickens, and quite a few spoiled dogs. He was a natural with animals, who appreciated and cared for God’s creatures, both big and small. When Manuel was not tending to his farm, he could be found at important industrial construction sites throughout Texas, the U.S. Gulf Coast regions, and overseas—leading others very well.
Manuel’s remarkable career began in Texas with Brown & Root Industrial Services and with BE&K Building Group as Superintendent. Manuel also worked for KamTech Services and Ahlstrom Construction as Project Manager. Manuel later worked as an Industrial Construction Consultant for Dynamic Structures at Disney Parks in Orlando, Florida, and overseas in China.
We will miss Manuel, miss his sincere love for others, miss his timely wisdom, and miss his gentle, caring heart! However, we fully trust that Manuel is now in the very presence of God through Christ Jesus, and that Manuel has been joyfully reunited with his kind-hearted and devoted daughter, Teena, his loving parents, Julian and Valentina, and Manuel’s many other loved ones who have passed before him.
The LORD is Manuel’s shepherd; He has all that Manuel needs. He lets Manuel rest in green meadows; leads him beside peaceful streams. He renews Manuel’s strength. He guides Manuel along right paths, bringing honor to His name. Even when Manuel walked through the darkest valley, he was not afraid, for You are close beside Manuel. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort Manuel. You prepare a feast for Manuel in the presence of his enemies. You honor Manuel by anointing his head with oil. Manuel’s cup overflows with blessings. Surely Your goodness and unfailing love will pursue Manuel all the days of his life, and he will live in the house of the LORD forever. - Psalm 23
