Dr. Manuel J. Frausto

Dr. Manuel J. Frausto, age 86, entered into rest Thursday, August 28, 2025 in Del Rio,Texas after a valiant battle with Parkinsons Disease. He was born March 18, 1939. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ubil and Alicia Frausto. Sister, Marie Wofford. Dr. Frausto has a grandson that followed in his footsteps (Michael Anderson) going in his 4th year medical school in New York. Dr. Frausto graduated from EP High School, attended UT in Austin and graduated from Sul Ross State University with a degree in Industrial Chemistry. He taught Chemistry and math before graduating from San Luis Potosi Medical School in 1975. He was in private practice in San Antonio and worked in the ER. In 2003, he was added to the Wall of Tolerance and awarded his certificate. Dr. Frausto devoted the remaining 20 years of his career to United Medical Centers and also was the Medical Director at Griffols his last 2 years. He also spent time doing charity work with Austin Smiles helping repair cleft lips in Honduras and was also a member of Drs without Borders. He especially enjoyed his geriatric patients which he learned so much from. His biggest asset was his sense of humor. Left to cherish his memory is his spouse of 41 years, Mona Frausto. Brother Ubil Frausto and spouse Dora Frausto, sister Irma Ramos and spouse Tony Ramos. Daughters; Estrella Frausto, Patty and spouse Randy Anderson, Myrna Frausto and Erika Frausto. Sons; Jose Garza, Jr., and Carlos Loredo along with numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, September 1, 2025 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, where everyone will meet. Address to church is 509 W. Garza St., Del Rio, Texas 78840. Gentlemen with the honor of pallbearers are Jose Arturo Garza, Jr., Ubil Frausto, Jr. and Carlos Loredo, Estrella Frausto, Ralph Salas and Patty Anderson. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery at the end of W 2nd St and St Peters St, Del Rio, Texas 78840.
