Manuel Phipps Obituary
He was born on May 9, 1959, to Verlin Joe and Mary (Snyder) Phipps. He spent most of his life in Elwood and the last 10 years in Alexandria. Joe has been a self-employed construction contractor for a number of years. He served in the Indiana National Guard. Joe enjoyed hunting and collecting arrowheads and historical artifacts. He liked to fish and woodworking. The time spent with his family and friends was very important to him.

Sister-Katina (Randall) Gleeson of Gaston
3 Brothers-Mark (Lisa) Snyder of Monterey, Tennessee, Kevin Phipps of Alexandria, Tony (Rainy) Knotts of Elwood
Step-Brother-Daniel (Linda) Swango of Geneva
Step-sister-Carol (Bart) Morin of Alexandria
Several nieces and nephews
Joe was preceded in death by his father in 2009, his brother David in 2018.
Family and friends are invited to a gathering honoring Joe's life on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 5 pm to 7 pm in the Owens Funeral Home, 412 North Harrison Street, Alexandria. Cremation will follow the visitation. Private interment will take place for the family in Park View Cemetery in Alexandria.
Memorial contributions are requested to the Owens Funeral Home through their website www.owensmemorialservices.com to assist the family with final expenses.
