Manuel Salvador Ramirez

Manuel (Manny) Salvador Ramirez of Stanhope, NJ left us peacefully on September 7, 2025, at the age of 63. Born in the Dominican Republic to José and Consuelo Ramirez, he emigrated to the United States and settled in New York City with his close-knit family. Manny's life was one filled with love for his family, his children, and the sports he so dearly cherished.

Manny proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1982 to 1984. Following his military service, he began work at PaineWebber (now UBS) where he was pivotal in establishing the intramural and Wall Street corporate softball leagues. He also played in several competitive men's leagues in the metro NYC area, creating many friendships. After his career at UBS, he was a devoted stay-at-home dad and dedicated his time volunteering at Lakeland (Lenape Valley) Little League. Manny held many roles at Lakeland Little League – manager, coach, maintenance, league president, snack stand lady, but the most important were mentor and caretaker. Universally known as "Coach Manny", he was always ready to help anyone and had a soft spot for those that just needed a little extra help or guidance. In addition to his volunteer work with the league, he was often found umpiring or refereeing local community sports.

Through all of this, he was always found with a smile that showed the true enjoyment and appreciation he had for his community. But more than anything, his smile was at its brightest when he was with his family. A devoted father, Manny's greatest joy were his five children: Vanessa, Sabrina, Nicholas, Kenneth, and Alexander, as well as his three grandsons: Brooklyn, Ceaser, and D'Anthony. His love for them all was immeasurable, as they were the greatest source of pride and happiness in his life. In addition to his children and grandchildren, Manny is survived by his loving siblings, a plentitude of nieces and nephews, and many friends, all of whom will miss his smile while remembering him for his kindness, humor, and love of Crocs with socks.

A celebration of life funeral mass will be held on Saturday, October 11th at 10 a.m. at Saint Michael's Church in Netcong, NJ. A private family interment will be held.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Manny's life may consider a donation to Lenape Valley Little League in Stanhope, NJ.
