Manuel Antonio Rivera Ortiz, affectionately known as “Doctor Pepe,” passed away on November 18, 2025, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He was 54 years old.
Manuel was born on March 15, 1971, in Paute, Ecuador, where he was raised alongside his three siblings—one sister and two brothers. In search of a better life, he relocated to New York, where he lived for 15 years before making Bridgeport his home for the last decade.
Known for his humble nature, joyful personality, and unforgettable sense of humor, Manuel brought light and laughter to everyone he encountered. He was deeply respected for his kindness and for the warmth he shared so freely. Over the years, he cultivated a passion for cooking and became a talented chef, serving his community through his work in a local restaurant.
Manuel is survived by his three children: Josseline Rivera, Christopher Rivera, and Kayla Rivera, as well as his loving spouse. He was predeceased by his parents, Luis Antonio Rivera and Ana Ortiz.
Manuel “Doctor Pepe” Rivera Ortiz will be remembered for his generosity, happiness, and the love he poured into his family and all who knew him.
Funeral services for Manuel will be held November 21, 2025 from 9:30am- 11:30am at community Funeral chapels 798 Park Ave Bridgeport, CT TEL: 203-334-9999. A mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12pm at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church located at 1255 E Main St. Bridgeport, CT 06608- TEL:(203) 333-2147. Manuel Antonio Rivera Ortiz, cariñosamente conocido como “Doctor Pepe”, falleció el 18 de noviembre de 2025 en el Hospital St. Vincent de Bridgeport, Connecticut. Tenía 54 años. Manuel nació el 15 de marzo de 1971 en Paute, Ecuador, donde creció junto a sus tres hermanos: una hermana y dos hermanos.
