Silva Funeral Home - TauntonManuel G. White, age 83, of Taunton, MA, passed away peacefully on March 5th, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.
He was born on March 14, 1942, in East Providence, Rhode Island, to Ida and Manuel White.
Throughout his life, Manny was known for his warm and loving heart, his sense of humor, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. He had a special way of making people laugh and making everyone around him feel welcomed and cared for.
Manny found joy in the simple things. He loved fishing, hunting, boating, and lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it. His favorite place to be was on the water. Manny cherished time spent with those he loved and created many lasting memories with family and friends that will be treasured forever.
Manny shared 64 devoted years of marriage with his beloved wife, Barbara. Together they built a life filled with love, strength, and adventure. The memories they created together will forever be held close by those who knew and loved them.
He was a proud and devoted father to his children: Manny White Jr. of Taunton; Wendy Medeiros and her husband, Richard Medeiros, of Taunton; and David White of Vermont.
He was a proud grandfather to his grandchildren: Stephanie Medeiros and her partner, Justin Rezendes of Taunton; Tabitha and her husband, Matthew Andrade of Raynham; Richard Medeiros of Taunton; Tony Silva and his partner Emma DaPonte of Taunton ; David Jr and Dalton White of Vermont. He was also the loving great-grandfather of Alexa, Stella, and Axel.
Manny was a loving brother to David White and his wife, Eleanor, and was predeceased by his sister, Yvonne. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
Manny will be remembered for his kindness, his laughter, and the love he shared so freely with everyone around him. His favorite place may have been on the water, but his true home was always with his family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday ,March 20, 2026 at 2pm with a funeral service to begin at 5pm in the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton. Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.
Interment will be held privately.
