Marc A. Alderman

Marc A. Alderman was born on December 28, 1973, in Dallas, Texas, to his loving parents, Carrol Ray and Carolyn (Nordvik) Alderman, and welcomed home by his big sister, Susie. A proud Texan at heart, Marc remained a lifelong and devoted Dallas Cowboys fan.

When Marc was young, his family relocated to California and settled in Bakersfield, where he began his educational journey in Special Education classes at Highland Elementary. He later attended a small private special education program where he truly blossomed. Marc discovered a love for gymnastics and proudly competed in The Special Olympics, delighting in showing off his many hard-earned medals.

Marc briefly attended Special Education classes at North High School before moving with his parents to Exeter, California. There, he found joy in running and joined the cross-country team at Exeter Union High School. The entire school and town community embraced Marc wholeheartedly. As he walked through town with his family, friends would often drive by and call out, "Hi Marc!" - a simple kindness that always brightened his day.

After the heartbreaking loss of his beloved mother to cancer far too soon, Marc and his father briefly relocated to Fresno before returning to Bakersfield to be closer to his sister, brother-in-law, and nephews.

Marc was the most beautiful soul - loving, kind, and accepting. He never met a stranger, only new friends. He had an extraordinary memory for people, birthdays, football scores, and game schedules, and he especially loved watching football surrounded by family. Marc was a blessing to everyone who met him. His heart radiated pure innocent love.

Marc was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Wilma Nordvik, and David (D.W.) and Doris Kouns Alderman; his parents, Carrol Ray Alderman and Carolyn (Nordvik) Alderman; his uncle, Charles David Alderman; his aunts, Susie Curlee and Joyce Geeting; and his first cousins, Tracy Rose and Sam Alderman.

He is survived by his devoted sister, Susan (Susie) Alderman Lara, and her husband, Roman Lara; his cherished nephews, Roman Lara IV and Raymond Lara; and his loving first cousins, Glen Geeting, Loren Geeting, Preston Geeting, Loyll Plinske, Anne Stokes, David Curlee, and Jana Littleton.

A celebration of Marc's precious life will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery Northeast, 3700 River Blvd., Bakersfield, CA 93305.

Marc's life was a gift, and his love will live on forever in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
