Marc was born on February 16th, 1949, in Lincoln, Nebraska to George and Dorothy Clayton. He grew up in Grand Island, Nebraska and graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1967. Marc attended the University of Nebraska where he earned his degree in Business Administration. He built a successful career in sales, working for over 20 years with Zimmerman Metals, where he retired as the Sales Manager.
Marc had a passion for golf and was an avid fan of the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers football team. He enjoyed building Legos and was dedicated to his faith, regularly participating in Bible study and church activities. Marc cherished spending time with his family. Marc loved the Lord and was guided by his faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was known for his generous and kind-hearted nature, his compassion for others, and his gift for building community. Marc touched countless lives through his presence and kind treatment of others.
Marc was preceded in death by his father, George, his mother, Dorothy, his brother, Tom, and his beloved wife, Linda. He is survived by his sons Byron, Christopher, and Marc Jr., stepson David, brother Jeff, daughter-in-law Christi, grandchildren Ally, Jacob, and Brooklyn, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held in early 2026. Additional details will be published in the coming weeks.
