Marc A. Lavieri

Marc Anthony Lavieri, born May 10, 1952 in Hartford, CT, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2023 in Canton, CT. He grew up in Barkhamsted and spent much of his life there before moving to Winsted. He attended Barkhamsted Elementary School and Regional #7 High School, and graduated from The Canterbury School in New Milford, CT in 1971. He also attended Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh and The Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Beloved son, brother and uncle, Marc was a lifelong devotee to the fine arts, well known for his abiding love of music and theater, which he shared enthusiastically with family and friends. He was an accomplished actor and drummer at an early age, focusing much of his attention on jazz and musical theater. He performed both as an actor and musician in theatrical productions, and also with former bandmates of jazz legend, George Benson. Also an avid follower of baseball, he was a staunch fan of the Yankees!

Marc worked for the Mental Health Association of Connecticut for many years. He was dedicated to his family and maintained the apple orchard established by his father many years ago.

Marc was predeceased by his father, Joseph Lavieri, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Antoinette Lavieri and six siblings: Joseph Lavieri, Jr., Madeleine Lavieri, Christina Lavieri, Julie Lavieri, Jonathan Lavieri, and Maria Hislop.

Montano-Shea Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
