Margo Burke

Margo Burke of Westerly, RI died peacefully at home in her sleep Sunday, February 16th. She was 67 years old.
The youngest of five children of John S. Burke Jr. and Mary Stan O'Connell Burke, she is survived by two sisters, Rev. Anne B. Burke, Mary Stan Burke, a brother, John Stephen Burke III, a brother- in -law John W. Townsend, seven nieces and nephews, six grandnieces and grandnephews and a plethora of cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, and a sister, Kate Burke Townsend.
Born and raised in New York City and Watch Hill, RI, Margo, affectionately known as Mags, attended the Convent of the Sacred Heart (91st Street) and graduated from the Canterbury School in New Milford, CT. She will be remembered for her caring heart, her outrageous sense of humor, her exuberant personality and her love for and knowledge and expertise in gardening and flowers. She was passionate about the landscaping business she started, Watch Hill Gardens.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
