Marc Ringer of the Akron area, age 50, sadly passed away on July 3, 2023 at University Hospital Main Campus in Cleveland with his family by his bedside.

Marc was born on July 27, 1972 in Anderson, In. to the late Stephen Ringer and Carla Ringer.

He was a graduate of Copley H.S. and attended Kent State. He started his career as a land surveyor and advanced to being a Project Manager. He worked at Millman Land Services for 22 years. He was looking forward to joining CRBE to advance his career.

Marc loved to have fun and laugh! He was a bit of a trickster and was known to put a fake blob of melted ice cream on your beautifully decorated Thanksgiving table. He was adventurous and jumped out of a helicopter to go skiing. He loved fly fishing at Yellow Creek in Pa. He looked forward to his annual trip to Alaska where it was the challenge to get the biggest fish. He enjoyed skiing with his brother-in-law, Sean. He was a loving and kind son and brother. He always looked for the positive in people. He loved his family and enjoyed all the get togethers. That's our Marc!

He is survived by his mother, Carla Ringer and sister and brother-in-law, Amy and Sean Fickers, nephew, Preston Fickers and special friend, Cathleen Straffen. He was preceded in death by his father, Steve Ringer.

A big heartfelt thanks goes out to the ICU staff at University Hospital. Their kindness and compassion helped us get through this difficult time.

In memory of Marc, you can make a donation to your favorite charity in his name.

A Memorial Service will be held on July 27 at 11am at Faith Lutheran Church located at 2726 W. Market Street in Fairlawn, Ohio. Luncheon and remembering Marc immediately following at St. George Family Center located at 3204 Ridgewood Road in Copley, Ohio.

I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Marc for the past seven years. Marc was an excellent listener and someone who projected a sense of calm even in the stressful situations. I enjoyed talking Cleveland sports and fishing with him and Marc was a wealth of knowledge in his profession. I'm thankful for the short time I was able to get to know Marc and I will miss him.

I met Marc in grade school and remember him to be kind and happy. Today I saw every bit of his grade school smile in this photo. I moved away before high school but can say he was the kind of kid you wanted to sit next to in class. Peace be with you and your family.

I never had the honor of meeting Marc in person but he was always kind and helpful with work projects. I'm so very sorry for your loss. You're family will be in my prayers.

He definitely was everything said in the obituary. I knew him well long ago. It´s been a decade or more since I´ve seen him. I won´t pretend to be a good friend. But, I can only hope that he would consider me an old friend. I would just like to say that he had a quick wit about him. He had a way of making me laugh. I speak only for myself when I say this. He seemed to have a way about him that endeared people, including me, to him.An old friend in a place in time that really made an impression on me. I´m sad.
