Marcel, affectionately known as "Jay", was a dedicated mechanic who spent 28 years as a head mechanic at Fruit of the Loom, showcasing his skills and commitment to excellence. Following this, he seamlessly transitioned to the oilfield, where he worked as a machinist for Taylor Oilfield for 15 years. His hands were always busy, but it was his generous spirit that truly defined him.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Jay poured his heart into coaching Little League baseball and football, instilling the values of teamwork and dedication in the young athletes he mentored. His greatest joys were found on the golf course and by the water, fishing with friends and family, loving every moment.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, remembered for his gentle soul and unwavering willingness to help others. Those who knew him cherished his company, and his absence will be deeply felt by all.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Jacqueline Borel; sons, Bryce Borel and Blye Borel; daughter, Nikia Broussard; grandchildren, Brylan Borel, Marlee Broussard (Lane), Alyssa Borel Robin and Ashton Broussard; great-grandchild, Evelyn Grace Broussard; brother, Carl Borel (Claudia); and sisters, Libbie Bourque (Gene) and Loretta Funk (John).
