Lafayette, Louisiana

Betty Angelle, lifelong beauty and beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, at 5:14 PM, surrounded by her girls-just the way she would have wanted it.

Born and raised in Lafayette, Betty graduated from Lafayette High School, where she was a proud majorette, known for her kind heart, her movie-star looks, and a smile that could stop traffic. She carried herself with grace, a little sparkle, and just enough flirtation to make everyone around her feel special.

Betty spent much of her career brightening dental offices across Acadiana, working for Dr. Corky Harkins, Dr. Albert Guillot, and several other dentists who still remember her beauty, warmth, and kindness.

She is survived by her children: Gina Trahan and her husband Jean; Rocks Ann Searcy and her husband Dr. Stephen; Lorie John Angelle and his wife Sharon; and Tricia Trosclair and her husband Toby. She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Leger, who shared with her a lifetime of love, laughter, and family stories.

Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly called her "Honey." They include Lexi Trahan Holinga, Chad Joseph Trahan, Dr. Lindsey Searcy Saterfiel, Emily Elise Searcy, and Tateum John Trosclair, along with eight great-grandchildren who will carry her spirit forward in their laughter and light.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bertha and Cleven Guidry; her brother, Earl Guidry, and his wife Earline; and her husband, Larry Angelle.

In a bit of poetic timing, Betty left us exactly six years to the day after Larry, and she will be laid to rest in Breaux Bridge-near Larry, so she can still keep an eye on things.

Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge, open to the public. A Rosary will be recited at 12:00 noon, followed by funeral services at 1:30 p.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge.

Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Carpenter House, St. Joseph's Hospice, and to her devoted caregivers and neighbors for their kindness, care, and comfort during Betty's final days.

Pallbearers will be Lorie Angelle, Dr. Stephen Searcy, Jean Trahan, Chad Trahan, Jacob Holinga Sr., Drew Saterfiel, and Tateum Trosclair.

Honorary Pallbearer: Thomas Latiolais.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Joseph's Hospice or the Carpenter House in appreciation of their compassionate care.

Heaven is a little prettier now that Honey is there.
