Marcel Lucien Chenard, 93, of 316 Tropic Dr. Osprey, Florida, passed away on December 5, 2024 at Creekside Nursing and Rehab Center in Sarasota, Florida. Marcel was born on May 20,1931 in Lewiston, Maine, the son of Henri and Irma Dutil Chenard. Marcel served in the U.S. army from 1949-1952 during the Korean War. After returning to Maine he joined the Lewiston Maine Fire Department, where he served for 24 years. After Marcel's retirement from the fire department, he became certified as a Master Electrician and proceeded to start his own business called MC Electric. In October of 1999, he and his wife, Judy, moved to Florida for a warmer climate. Marcel continued to work as an electrician, volunteering at the Arbors Mobile Home in Osprey where they resided for 25 years. Marcel is survived by his wife, Judith Chenard, daughter, Theresa Brooks and her husband, Bobby Brooks and three step daughters, Suzanne Nadeau, Annette Okonuk, Rolande Paolino. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Michael Brooks, Jennifer Rioux, Bobby Brooks, and six great grandchildren, Landon Brooks, Dylan Preo, Tyler Preo, Austin Preo, Justin Preo and Maddox Brooks. Marcel has many nieces and nephews. He enjoyed visiting his cousin, Bob Chenard in Waterville, Maine. Marcel belonged to the Mid-Maine Motorcycle Association. He was a member of The American Legion for over 50 years. Marcel achieved his pilot's license in the mid 1970s and flew a Cessna N575 KH. Marcel enjoyed fishing and camping with his wife, Judy. His favorite fishing spots were on Sebago Lake and Moosehead Lake.Marcel is preceded in death by his eight siblings, Irene Andrews, Rita Rodrigue, Pauline Blanchard, Romeo Chenard, Bert Chenard, Carmen Lafontaine, Roger Chenard and Bert Chenard.
