Marcel Dickerson

Tilman Marcel Dickerson, age 92, of Rabun Gap, Georgia passed away November 19, 2024.
Marcel was born August 7, 1932 in Rabun County to the late Edward Dickerson and late Alma Ramey Dickerson. After high school, Marcel joined the Air Force where he served in the Korean War. When he left the military, he began working as a carpenter.
Marcel was a loving husband, father and grandfather as well as a devoted member of Battle Branch Baptist Church. He enjoyed singing and playing guitar, the mandolin, and steel guitar. Marcel raised cattle and pigs on his farm.
In addition to his parents, Marcel is preceded in death by his siblings, Kenneth Dickerson, Grant Dickerson, Tim Dickerson, Donald Dickerson, Wayne Dickerson, Kyle Dickerson, Lynn Dickerson, Ruth Williams, Irma Loupe, and Jewell Arrowood; son-in-law, Jerry Smith; and daughter-in-law, Patricia Dickerson.
Marcel is survived by his wife, Margaret Ann Stockton Dickerson; children, Anthony "Tony" Dickerson, Dale Dickerson (Sharon), Stephen Dickerson (Nedra), and Janet Smith; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held 1:00pm-2:30pm Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Beck Funeral Home with a Funeral Service at 3:00pm in the Beck Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Wolffork Baptist Church Cemetery in Rabun Gap.
