Marcel Nowakowski

Marcel "Charlie" Nowakowski passed away at his home on the East Side on Sunday, March 20, 2022. He was 89 years old.Charlie was predeceased by his parents John and Valeria Nowakowski; his wife of 50 years Guadalupe (Medina) Nowakowski; his siblings Clement (wife Virginia), Sylvester (wife Virginia), Bernard (wife Clementine), Cyril (wife Dolores), Joseph, Alphonse (wife Suzanne), Martha, Sr. Marcella SSJ-TOSF, Eric (wife Florence) and Dolores (husband Tom).Charlie is survived by his siblings Martha, Marcella, and Alphonse; children Juana, Paul (wife Elvia) and John; his grandchildren Christopher, Jacob, Sebastian, Oscar, Elias, and Ethan; and countless nieces, nephews, and extended family members.Charlie attended James Thorpe Elementary School and Tilden High School in Chicago. He also served in the U.S. Army and worked for several decades at Sherwin Williams.Charlie enjoyed playing baseball, doing jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles, playing dominoes, walking to Burger King to have morning coffee with his friends, but most importantly, spending time with his family.
Charlies family and friends will be celebrating his life at a memorial mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church at 11:00 am on April 1, 2022.
