Marcella (Marcy) Hallan, 94, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024, Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids, Minn.
Born April 20, 1930, to Alvin Sr. and Tina Wiberg in Fosston, Minn.
She is survived by her children, Sheila Bratt [Steve] Yankton, S.D., Larry Korth [Connie] Keewatin, Minn., Linda Pinkelman [Fran], Hoskins, Neb., David Korth, Hibbing, Minn., Billy Korth, Hibbing, Minn., Jody Korth, Hibbing, Minn., Wendi Jones [Mike] Jones, Sartell, Minn.; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one-great-great grandson; brother, Glen [Helen] Wiberg, Askov, Minn.; sister, Beverlee Ostenaa, Cottage Grove, Minn.
Preceding her in death, husband George, 2009. Her siblings, Alvin Jr. Wiberg, Charlie Wiberg, Dennis Wiberg, Verna Ostrander, Gloria Roundy, Terry Woodford, and Darwin Wiberg.
Marcy considered herself, a pioneer woman. Growing up during the depression, living on a farm as a young woman, she encountered many obstacles in her life. She was a determined strong willed woman to do better. After her children were grown, she went back to school, and received her degree in criminal justice. Thereafter, working as a guard @ Pinkerton's. She also did work in Home Health. She volunteered @ her church, Congregation of Good Shepherd. She was known for her excellent meals, delicious cookies, and yummy jam. Her embroidery & hand crafted pot holders were professional.
Family time was so important to her, especially her grandbabies.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00-11:45 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing, Minn. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. before service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing, Minn.
