Marcella “Marcie” Robichaud
Marcie Robichaud, age 89, of White Bear Lake, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026.
Marcie was born on April 20, 1936, in Superior, Wisconsin to Paul and Irene (Cegla) Modeen. Her family later moved to Duluth, where she grew up in the Lakeside neighborhood. She was raised in a lively, close-knit family as the third oldest of seventeen children, often serving as a helpmate to her mother in caring for her siblings. Marcie attended St. Michael Elementary and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1955.
On August 9, 1957, Marcella Modeen was united in marriage with Edward Robichaud. They lived in several locations before settling in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, in 1964. They were a social couple with many friends, and watching them together on the dance floor was pure joy. They shared a deep love of life and raised four children.
Marcie was a loving wife, a devoted mother, and a proud grandmother who delighted in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid reader, enjoyed birdwatching, and travel, but cherished her family above all else. Marcie and Ed were strong supporters of education. Marcie also embraced the outdoors, including hiking and cross-country skiing with her family often in William O’Brien State Park, and savoring the beauty of nature.
Marcie dedicated her life to serving others through her work and countless volunteer efforts, including as secretary of St. Mary of the Lake School, director of Dellwood Country Club, election worker in Vadnais Heights, president with her husband Ed of the St. Mary Home and School Association and longtime participation in the Rosary Society of St. Mary’s serving at funerals. Her faith was central to her life, and she was a longtime member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church.
Marcie was the proud grandmother of nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Her family always came first. She exuded kindness, love, and generosity—qualities that will live on through her husband, children, grandchildren, and many friends.
Marcie is survived by:
Her loving husband of 68 years, Edward;
Her children, Debbie (Dan) Brady of Alaska, Steve (Sara) Robichaud of Arizona, Mike (Patty) Robichaud of Minnesota, and Therese (Mike) Gadbois of Minnesota;
Her grandchildren, John (Savanna) Brady, Joe (Teresa) Brady, Paul Robichaud, Alison (Andrew Medina) Robichaud, Luc Robichaud, Emily Robichaud, Natalie (Ryan) Gadbois-Mincks, Travis Gadbois, Erik Gadbois;
Her great grandchildren, Jordan, Eliana, and Eleanor Brady; Paxson and Parker Persinger, Brielle Brady; Madilyn and Colton Mincks;
Her siblings Shirley (Dick) Frank, Paul Modeen, Robert (Judy) Modeen, Kathy Modeen, John (Laurie) Modeen, Jackie Yost, David (Elizabeth) Modeen.
Marcie’s family extends a warm thank you to the staff of Harbor Crossing, St. Therese of Oxbow Lake and Grace Hospice for their loving care of Marcie and Ed
