Marcella Leigh Cary Trotter
March 9, 1938 – October 19, 2025
On Sunday, October 19th, my dad had a birthday like no other when he greeted his bride as she met Jesus face to face.
Marcella Leigh Cary was born in Carrollton, Missouri on March 9, 1938, the second of three children to Rutherford and Daisy Cary. She was born amid prayer and praise and the presence of the Holy Spirit entered that room as her father cried out Marcy, Marcy instead of mercy, mercy, thus how her name came to be.
In 1956 she married Richard Trotter and they were married for 64 years and served in pastoral ministry for over 50 years. She served as a Children's Church Pastor, Youth Pastor and also taught Sunday School for much of those years of ministry. Her studies on Revelation were a favorite for all.
Together they served as pastors in Princeton, MO, Fayetteville, TN, Hannibal, MO, Mesquite, TX, El Paso, TX, Galveston, TX and Huntsville, TX where they retired at the much beloved country church, New Birth Assembly of God.
Although she had suffered health complications, she was a valiant fighter who always said she wanted to go in the Rapture. She has and she will again and God called her home as she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Richard Trotter, her parents, her brother, Charles and her sister, Ann.
She is survived by her son, Rev. Randy Trotter, daughters, Rhonda & Rev. Homer Moore, Jill & Herb Valencia, grandchildren, Cary & Colby Trotter, Ryan & Miranda Moore, Lauren & Rev. Bart Lindsey, Brad & Lisa Valencia, Alex Valencia & fiancée Melanie Vega, great grandchildren, Rylee & Jackson Moore, Ally, Landree & Lincoln Lindsey, Aubree & Nico (Valencia) Herrera, Gage & Krew Valencia, Ayden Valencia and one great-great granddaughter Keziah Grace Herrera. She is also survived by her niece Robin Lance and nephews, Jack and David, a brother-in-law Rev. Edward Proffitt and nephews Mark (Alisha) & Curtis Proffitt and her dear friend, Carla (Tommy) Sandel, who called her Mom, along with countless family and friends through blood and the Family of God and those whom she led to the Lord.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 26th at 1PM at New Birth Assembly of God, 5097 FM 1374, Huntsville, TX, followed by a glorious celebration of life at 2PM with burial immediately following at Historic Bath Cemetery next to the church.
Memorial condolences may be made to the family at www.shmfh.com.
