Marci Lynne Perri, 59, of
Oceanport, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on February 24,
2026, at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank NJ, following a courageous battle with
cancer.
Marci was born on November 14, 1966, in
Framingham, Massachusetts, to David and Janet
Goldman. During middle school, she moved to Middletown, New Jersey, where she later
graduated from Middletown South High School. She attended Northeastern University,
majoring in political science, before transferring to Ramapo College where she graduated
Cum Laude in 1989.
Marci's professional journey began in an unexpected, yet fitting way. While working at a
local restaurant, she met Doran O'Conner of APL (American President Lines), who
recognized her charisma and drive and encouraged her to pursue a career in business. That
moment changed the course of her career. She began at APL and later joined NYK Line as a
marketing analyst, quickly proving herself and earning a promotion into sales. A role
perfectly suited to her outgoing nature and determination. She spent over five years at NYK,
during which she welcomed her first daughter, Abigail. Marci later worked at Tropical
Shipping before ultimately retiring to focus full-time on what she valued most: her family
and community. No matter the role, Marci excelled because she genuinely loved people. Her
ability to build relationships wasn't learned, it was innate.
At just 16 years old, Marci met Albert James Perri Jr. They were high school sweethearts
whose love grew up alongside them. On December 1, 1991, they were married at Jumping
Brook Country Club in Neptune, New Jersey.
They bought their first home in Red Bank, where they began raising their two daughters.
Later, they moved to Oceanport, where they continued building their life together.
Marci lived a full and vibrant life, filling her days with the people and passions she loved
most. She found peace at the beach, joy in traveling to new places, and comfort in getting
lost in a good book. Some of her happiest moments were spent hiking the trails of Vermont
with her husband and their beloved dogs, embracing nature and the quiet beauty of the
mountains.
She was a fabulous cook who brought everyone together around the table. Meals in her
home were never just meals; they were gatherings filled with laughter, stories, and love. She
rarely missed a good concert, especially if the Grateful Dead was playing, and music was
often the soundtrack to her life. And of course, she loved to shop - always with an eye for
style and finding the perfect piece.
Raised Jewish, Marci also found comfort attending Mass at St. James Church. Her faith
journey reflected her open heart; embracing tradition while welcoming connection and
community wherever she found it.
Marci was truly a force of nature - vibrant, dynamic, and impossible to contain. She was
always on the move, rarely content to sit still, embracing life with boundless energy and
determination. There was little she could not accomplish once she set her mind to it; her
drive and resolve carried her through every challenge, leaving an indelible mark on all who
witnessed her strength.
Marci was a true collector of friends, fiercely loyal and boundlessly devoted to those she
loved. She shone like the sun, drawing people into her warmth and light, with friends
always orbiting around her. From cherished childhood companions to new faces she
welcomed with open arms, her circle was ever-growing. Marci was a friend to all and a
stranger to none, possessing the rare gift of making every person she met feel uniquely
valued and deeply special in her world.
Marci lived for her girls, Abigail and Ally James, who were the very center of her world.
Above all else, she was most proud of them, celebrating every milestone and cherishing
every moment. She found her greatest joy in watching them grow and flourish into the
remarkable, accomplished women they are today, carrying forward her strength, love, and
light.
Second only to her devotion to her family was Marci's deep commitment to charity. She first
poured her energy into supporting her daughters' schools, and later expanded her efforts to
serve the broader community. Among the organizations closest to her heart were Soul
Kitchen, Mercy Center, and Sisters Academy. Marci worked tirelessly, collecting donations
almost daily, volunteering in the soup kitchen, and helping provide healthy meals to
neighbors in need. The role she treasured most was mentoring the girls at Sisters Academy
- whether serving as a substitute teacher, coaching lacrosse, lending a hand in the library,
or simply brightening the day with surprise snacks and crafts. In recognition of her
extraordinary dedication and impact, she was honored with a Distinguished Volunteer
Award, a testament to the countless lives she uplifted through her generosity and service.
Her generosity touched countless lives in her community. Marci gave freely of her time,
energy, and resources - not for recognition, but from a genuine desire to make a
meaningful difference in someone else's life.
Above all, Marci was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.
She was predeceased by her father, David Goldman.
She is survived by her loving husband, Albert James Perri Jr.; her daughters, Abigail Jayne
Perri and Ally James Perri; her cherished dogs, Remington and Henry; her mother Janet
Goldman; and her sisters, Jodi Murphy and Caryn Goldman.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donation be made to the Mercy Center in
Marci's honor.
The Perri Family extends heartfelt gratitude to the countless friends and loved ones whose
support, prayers, and kindness have carried them through this time.
Marci's light, laughter, and love will continue to shine in all who were fortunate enough to
know her.
