It is with profound respect and heartfelt admiration that we celebrate the life of a remarkable woman, Marcia Carolyn Ferraro, affectionately known as Bobbie. Born on June 7, 1944, in the vibrant city of Grand Rapids, Michigan, she graced this world with her presence until her peaceful departure on October 3, 2023, in the serene surroundings of Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Bobbie was the epitome of love and selflessness traits she generously infused into her family's lives. She is survived by her devoted husband of over 38 years, Jack, and their five remarkable children; Dawn, Tiffany and her husband Noel, Danielle and her husband Rick, Scott and his wife Brenda, and Damon. Bobbie's legacy also lives on in her grandchildren; Max, Raven, Teagan, Madison, Martín and his wife Braelynn, Noah, Jonas, Gabriella, Tristen and his wife Emily, Ricky, and her great-grandchildren, Teddy and Mateo.
Bobbie's journey to becoming the inspirational figure we all came to admire began in Garden Grove, where she attended Blessed Sacrament Elementary and Mater Dei High School. She then advanced her education at Marquett University, graduating as a Dental Hygienist. This was not only a career but a passion that spanned over 50 years, during which she bestowed beautiful smiles on her family and countless others.
Adventurous at heart, Bobbie had an insatiable thirst for exploring the world. Her travels took her to distant lands and allowed her to immerse herself in diverse cultures. But her sense of adventure was not only limited to travel. She was a fearless sportswoman who enjoyed boating, water skiing, and snow skiing. Yet, she also found tranquility in the simplicity of life. She reveled in the peace of her garden, nurturing her roses and vegetables with the same care and dedication she gave to her family and career.
Bobbie's faith was an integral part of her life, guiding her actions and decisions. She attended Mass regularly. It was this faith, coupled with her selflessness, that led her to give back to her community in every way she could. She was passionate about her role in The OC Cursillo movement with the Catholic Church and met weekly with her prayer group consisting of Barbara Ward, Sharon Blasi, Cathy Huff, and Roni Master. For over 28 years, they prayed together and encouraged one another to live a faithful Catholic life. She was also an active member of the Elks of Orange, where she participated in numerous groups, always striving to make a difference in the lives of others.
Let us remember Bobbie not with sorrow, but with gratitude. Gratitude for the love she bestowed upon us, for the lessons she taught us, and for the memories we shared with her. Her life was a testament to the power of love, selflessness, and adventure. It serves as a beacon of inspiration, encouraging us to live our lives with kindness, generosity, and a thirst for adventure.
So, let's honor Bobbie's memory by embracing these values and applying them in our lives. Let's love without reservation, give without expectation, and explore without fear. For in doing so, we keep Bobbie's spirit alive, allowing her legacy to continue inspiring future generations.
Farewell, Bobbie. Your life was a beautiful journey that touched countless lives. Your memory will forever be engraved in our hearts, your lessons etched in our minds. While you may no longer be with us physically, your spirit continues to guide and inspire us. Your legacy lives on, not just in your family, but in every life you touched with your kindness and love.
