JOHNSON CITY – Marcia J. Gasparovic (77) of Johnson City, NY passed away unexpectedly at UHS Wilson Medical Center on November 20, 2025. She was predeceased by her parents Frank J. and Helen M. Gasparovic, and her sister Joyce A. Gasparovic. She is survived by her sister Janice Newkirk, her brothers Richard and Edward Gasparovic, sister-in-law Mary Ellen, along with several nieces and nephews.
Marcia graduated with Honors from Seton Catholic High School in Endicott, NY. After graduation she attended Ridley Secretarial School before working for more than 25 years as an administrative secretary at IBM facilities in Boston, Atlanta, and Endicott. Following early retirement at IBM, she began a second career as an employee with the State of New York in Binghamton, NY.
After many years living in Vestal, NY, she relocated to independent living at the United Methodist Homes Hilltop Campus in 2017, where she quickly made a new circle of friends. She especially enjoyed being a member of a winning team on Trivia game nights. Marcia continued to be a long-time fan of the Atlanta Falcons NFL team after relocating back to the Endicott area.
Marcia always enjoyed being "a big kid" playing games with her nieces and nephews at family gatherings on holidays. Despite living with various health issues for several years, she was always reluctant to ask for help, insisting she was fine whenever asked.
A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at St James Church, 147 Main Street, Johnson City, with visitation at 10 AM and Mass at 11 AM. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
