Mary Ellen Palmatier, 75, of Endwell, NY, passed away peacefully at Wilson Hospital in Johnson City on August 4, 2025.
She was pre-deceased by her loving parents John L. Fries and Regina M. (Sammons) Fries, by her beloved husband of 38 years, Robert M. Palmatier, her brother-in-law Michael Flynn, and her nephew Jacob Fries. She is survived by her two children, Carrie (Todd Fedor) Wilson and Michael (Diane) Palmatier. She was the cherished grandmother of Christopher (Ashley), Ryan, Robert, and Lauren Wilson, Sophia and Anthony Palmatier, and treasured great-grandmother of Noah, Lucy, and Josephine Wilson, and Tatim Fedor. She is also survived by her three brothers John (Joyce), William (Diane), and Joseph (Deborah) Fries, and her two sisters Margaret (William Decker) Flynn and Kathleen (Daniel) Lane, and several nieces and nephews.
Mary Ellen was a graduate of Seton Catholic High School in Endicott, NY (class of 1968) and Nazareth College (class of 1972). She was employed by Endicott-Johnson in the Employee Benefits department, followed by the Bay Ridge Group where she worked for many more years as a dedicated employee. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Endicott, NY and applied her great faith and devotion to all that she did. Throughout her life, she was loved by all who knew her and will be fondly remembered for her ever-present warm smile, her positive supporting personality, her subtle sense of humor, her strong intelligence and self-determination, her intrapersonal skills that enabled her to listen to and connect with a wide variety of people, and as being a kind and gentle soul. She loved watching her daily soap operas, doing her word puzzles, and was an avid reader. More than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Our Lady of Good Counsel Roman Catholic Church, 701 West Main Street, Endicott, from 9:30-10:30 am, on Thursday, August 14th. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am, followed by a burial service at Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott.
